asia startups weekly feature

In the last seven days, we have covered a couple of startups on Tech in Asia, specifically from China, India, Japan, and Singapore.

For folks who are interested in investing or partnering with these startups, drop us an email — editors[at]techinasia[dot]com – anytime. No promises, but we’ll try our best to be the bridge.

And if you’re a tech startup based in Asia hoping to get featured, please send us your pitch here.

1. Resumonk | India

India-based Resumonk is a simple online builder that helps you create a professional resumes in just a few minutes.

2. DatellTians | India

DateIITians is an Indian SNS/dating site that appears to be taking that concept and applying it more directly to dating, initially targeting Indians at elite universities in India and abroad (and referencing India’s famous IIT in its name).

3. Luxe Nomad | Singapore

Earlier this week, Tigris Capital and Spring Seeds Capital announced their investment in Luxe Nomad, a Singapore-based luxury travel startup.

4. Hudong | China

Hudong is China’s massive, crowd-sourced encyclopedic wiki – with 6.4 million articles to date – which is run as a for-profit company. And now it has more cash to play with after raising $50 million in third-round funding.

5. Eyeland | Japan

Eyeland (www.eyeland.in) is an app that allows users to leave their comments and messages at a specific location, where other users can then read and follow nearby news.

6. Z1 | India

iPhone and Mac users usually have their contacts all synced with their Address Book app. And for Android users you can use Google sync to sort out your Google Contacts, for sure – but that neglects the other non-Android phones. So perhaps you can use the ‘Z1 Contacts Backup Restore’ app built for backing up contacts from Android devices to other devices.

7. Cacoo | Japan

Japanese startup, Cacoo, the online diagram and wire-frame creator, has surpassed 500,000 users recently. Congrats.
