It’s always nice to have celebrities using your products. It’s good publicity and it can be a useful testimonial to show off to potential clients. I’m a keen admirer of the folks from ReferralCandy, who build a solution that makes referral marketing easy to use and deploy. Some of you who attended our Startup Asia conferences might recall us using ReferralCandy to help us with our referral marketing.
The startup is apparently doing pretty well, bringing in new clients, often prominent ones such as Soulja Boy for his new line of Ocean Gang clothing. The results after eight weeks have been pretty awesome too. A case study stated that word-of-mouth improved by 980 percent with thousands of dollars in referral sales. Co-founder Zach C shared more on how the Ocean Gang Clothing team got hold of ReferralCandy:
The president of Ocean Gang Clothing found us through one of our e-commerce app store listings, and [my co-founder,] Dinesh, took a few phone conversations with him to talk about how Ocean Gang could use our app to increase their sales before they settled on using us.
ReferralCandy currently now has a couple of hundreds of retailers using its app with good revenue growth. No exact user number was revealed to us, however. The startup is also looking to hire more talent and then move them all to a bigger office. This is all encouraging news.
So a big thumbs up for enterprise products! Gain customers, not just users!
