SocialBakers released its data yesterday which showed that Indonesia lost around 5 million users, That caused a lot of confusion among Indonesians and became a hot topic of conversation on Twitter. SocialBakers sources its data from Facebook’s ad tool, and the user count for both are fixed today, changed from 36,775,040 to 42,921,720 users.
Before the fix, Indonesia was thrown down to 8th, but now it is back in 4th spot. The whole mess prompted some discussion regarding Facebook deleting some accounts to guarantee to people – and advertisers – that Facebook has real users instead of bots.
We here at TechInAsia are frankly more concerned that 5 million people were missing and no one bothered to send a search party… Who can eat at a time like this?!
