It can be hard for small teams of companies to find the right tools with which they can come together and work collaboratively. There are many solutions out there such as Basecamp, Yammer, and Trello which certainly help. But India-based startup Vheeds believes they have a better solution, bringing a number of functions into one convenient service. It’s called Honeytask.
Currently in beta, this browser-based platform lets your team members communicate in a number of ways.
They can chat in real time, get notifications about ongoing projects or tasks, assign tasks to team members, schedule events on a calendar, track working times, and even generate reports and timesheets. You can get a better understanding by viewing the Honeytask dashboard (pictured), or in the demo video below.
Co-founder Vasanth Sampathkumar explains how this whole idea came about:
When we started discussing various product ideas we felt the need for a collaborative system to organize our stuff. We researched existing applications but to our surprise we found no applications where productivity features were well connected, and also most of the apps lacked real time features. That was our light bulb moment.
The team is a five member crew based out of the small city of Erode, in Tamil Nadu. Vasanth tells us that within 15 days of their public paunch they had 340+ users, with about 70 percent of those being startups and SMEs.
So far, Honeytask is completely bootstrapped, but the startup aims to follow a freemium model, with free plans now available with some usage limitations and premium plans coming soon.
I’m glad to see that the team is also working on third party integrations for services like Google Docs/Drive and Dropbox, and they also have plans to bring Honeytask onto Apple and Android mobile devices as well.
