Indonesian telecommunications provider Indosat is extending its promotional bonus program called “Program 3 hari 3 malam lanjuut” which means ‘3 days 3 nights continues,’ up until October 24 [1]. The program gives its subscribers bonuses on voice, SMS, and internet services based on credit top-ups usage. Additionally, Detik cites Erik Meijer, the director and chief commercial officer of Indosat yesterday as he shared the telco’s stats:

  • 20 percent of Indosat users belong to the smartphone category, while the rest of 80 percent belong to the feature phone category. This data supports Andy Zain’s data regarding feature phone market percentage in Indonesia a few days ago.

  • Indosat has a total of 50.9 million users, and 25 percent of them subscribe to the bonus program.

  • Indosat has given out around 2 billion minutes of phone calling, 1 billion SMSes, and around 33 million Mbps for internet services via the bonus program.

  • There was a 10 percent increase on credit top-ups usage during the bonus program implementation in the Ramadan month.

  • Compared to last year’s Lebaran holiday [2], Indosat achieved an increase on all its three services: data (59.97 percent), voice call and SMS (25 percent).

You can see more details on the extended bonus program here.
