9to5Mac has unearthed details that suggest Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is preparing to build a massive data center in Hong Kong. Apparently, ground-breaking will occur in the first quarter of 2013 and it could be ready by 2015. In terms of size, the Apple HK data center could be insanely huge; an anonymous source told the site: “There is simply nothing to compare it to and therefore it is hard to make estimates on size based on the materials required.”
