Indonesian mobile carrier Axis will be the next operator providing nano SIM cards for customers. The card becomes available starting tomorrow, October 10.
Axis nano SIM cards are supplied free of charge to existing customers, or for Rp 1,500 ($0.60) for new customers to register unlimited internet service packages on the Pro Basic package. Starting tomorrow, the nano SIM cards will be available through Axis shops in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Batam. Chief marketing officer of Axis, Daniel Horan, wrote in the official announcement:
We are very pleased to offer this SIM card technology to customers. Axis always strives to deliver the most innovative solutions for its customers to meet their communication needs.
Three major telcos Telkomsel, XL, and Indosat have already confirmed that they will be ready to provide nano SIMs soon. XL is also debuting nano SIMs this month.
