Interactive.sg has officially launched its second season auditions for the business reality TV series, The Angel’s Gate. The show, which we have mentioned in the past, focuses on business and entrepreneurship. The producers of this reality program are now on the hunt for “passionate and creative individuals with real, sustainable business ideas.”
Each entrepreneur will have to pitch their business idea in an elevator ride with the investors, within a time limit of 30 seconds. Those who already have a working prototype usually gain an advantage over their competitors. In the previous season, 22 out of the hundreds of ideas submitted were chosen to have the opportunity to pitch directly to the investors on television. The series was also broadcasted on regional network Channel News Asia, as well as on Youtube, gaining over two million views. According to the CEO of Interactive SG and the creator of Angel’s Gate, Ash Singh:
The entrepreneurs we met in season one were hungry for funding and publicity. Those who were really focused got what they wanted and more. Over the course of the eight episodes, successful entrepreneurs were offered more than US$1.5 million in funding.
In Angel’s Gate season two, he says that they will be setting up a fund to provide each entrepreneur up to US$250,000 in cash and grants.
Registration is now open online, from now until March 2013. Selected applicants will be contacted to join one of many auditions, which will be held in major cities around Southeast Asia (in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta). Depending on the level of response, more cities might be added to the list.
