Kompas reported yesterday that Indonesia’s emergency number 110 is fully in operation since the beginning of this year, replacing the previous 112 emergency number. At the moment Telkom users, including home line users, are able to contact the number free of charge. The Indonesian national police plans to make it free as well for other telecom operators in the future. And starting next month, people will be able to send SMS to the 110 number.
Indonesian citizens can report public incidents like accidents and criminal activities through the 110 number.
