1. Appota | Vietnam
Founded in 2011, Appota is a mobile app delivery platform that serves as a medium between app developers and smartphone users – and aims to get the general public to pay up for their apps.
2. Guanxi.me | China
Chinese startup Guanxi.me is a Momo and Skout-like location-based dating and chat app. Back in October last year, the startup received series A funding from Singtel Innov8. This week the startup came up with a funny music video about the dangers of modern day dating – see the video in the post.
3. Jooix | Singapore
Launched in 2011, Singapore’s Jooix is a highly-curated fashion/beauty e-commerce startup which announced this week that it successfully raised a round of funding from Beacon New Ventures.
4. OgahMahal | Indonesia
While many people in Indonesia are still reluctant to purchase sexy lingerie from brick-and-mortar shops, OgahMahal, a one-month-old specialist online store that sells only lingerie, steps in to provide consumers a more convenient avenue for alluring attire.
5. Medeel | India
Indian startup Medeel is a useful online platform that lets patients submit their medical records to multiple hospitals and solicit bids for their treatment options online.
6. Scoop | Indonesia
Scoop is an Indonesian e-reader startup and book webstore that has just announced a major new distribution partnership with arguably Indonesia’s number one national newspaper, Kompas.
7. Agate Jogja | Indonesia
Indonesian game developer Agate Jogja this week released its twenty-third Titok title called Titok: Menerjang Meteor (meaning “charging against meteors”). Always keen on topical subjects for its games, this latest Flash-based game was inspired by the meteor that hit Russia last month.
8. Chope | Singapore
Singapore-based restaurant booking site Chope has more good news in the form of an investment round led by Singapore Press Holdings. We talked to Chope’s CEO about expansion plans.
9. NusaResearch | Indonesia
Launched in November 2011, NusaResearch is an Indonesian online market research startup that aims to be the nation’s top online survey site by the end of 2013. The startup believes that its Japanese expertise can help spice up the Indonesian research ecosystem.
10. Colorbox | Vietnam
Colorbox is a mobile gaming startup that started in 2009 with seven co-founders who used to work at Gameloft. Last February, the startup received investment from Japanese VC firm Cyberagent Ventures, and after showing impressive growth overseas, Colorbox will be releasing a new game aimed at its home market.
