After planting its feet in Indonesia, global outsourcing online marketplace Freelancer plans to venture into neighbor Malaysia as early as next week with localized language on the site. We’ve been told that so far there are around 50,000 Malaysian users on there, of whom 80 percent are freelancers.
The localized language support was able to boost the Indonesian userbase last year, reaching over 100,000 so far. Of course, users still need to understand the English language to communicate with the many employers in English-speaking countries like the UK, the US, and Australia.
We look forward to more information about the Malaysian site next week.
