East Ventures has been pretty active in the Indonesian startup scene, investing in and incubating more than 20 startups in the country so far. Just when we thought we could finally rest our fingers from typing, at the end of today’s Jakarta’s Ventures Night, Willson Cuaca, one of the partners at East Ventures, announced the launch of its Angels Network initiative.
This angels network will bring in angel investors who are interested in investing in early-stage Indonesian startups. Willson declined to reveal any names of those who are in its network. He did, however, say that all the East Ventures Alpha mentors will be part of the new angels network. These Alpha mentors include the GM of Zynga Japan, Shintaro Yamada, and Chinaccelerator’s Cyril Ebersweiler. In addition, all angels in East Ventures’ Angels Network will gain early access to East Ventures Alpha startups and also very early-stage startups who have approached East Ventures.
Willson remained tight-lipped about the details and assured me that more information will be shared over the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned.
[Disclosure: East Ventures is a PO investor]
